A TUNNEL

In 1961, Nah Tin Ming constructed a subaqueous tunnel linking Singapore to Malaysia. He built a series of concrete platforms along the coast of Woodlands which looked like jetties, under which the tunnel ran. There were similar accounts of other tunnels constructed to link Singapore and Malaysia during the 1960s, and the remnants of Nah's tunnel can still be seen today. Parts of these structures are due to be demolished for the upcoming Woodlands Waterfront promenade in 2012.
